Sixteen voices, sixteen places in the stereo field. Where a voice stands decides how bright it is, how loud, how far out of tune, how much grit it gets and how much of it reaches the echo. Drag it and all of that follows.
For anyone building wide, slow pads who is tired of one chorus across the whole chord. Not a workhorse — DREAMS makes pads and drones, not basses, not leads, not drums.
Position is a sound control
Sixteen voices stand on a tilted stage. Left to right is the stereo image, near to far is distance. A voice at the back is darker, quieter and sits in the room; a voice at the front is present and dry. Spread them by pitch, by order of playing, at random — or drag each one where you want it.
Analog, FM and wavetable, on layer A and layer B. The analog side is a zero-delay ladder or state-variable filter with a continuous low-band-high morph; FM has four arrangements; the wavetable has four banks of eight frames, computed at startup from harmonic recipes — no sampled material from anywhere.
Every one of the sixteen voices has its own fold, ring modulator, comb and lo-fi — that part really does run sixteen times. Behind it a shared chain: tape echo, shimmer, ensemble, phaser, reverse, blur and a reverb. Echo and reverse lock to the host tempo. Every stage has its own dry/wet.
Two envelopes, two LFOs, velocity, key, wheel, random — and where the voice stands. Twenty-two targets, all of them per voice. Six sculpt curves lie across the field, so brightness, level, detune, grit, echo and shimmer can each follow the left-to-right axis on their own.
Nothing here has been heard
There is no recording on this page, and that is not an oversight. DREAMS has been built, compiled and measured — but nobody has sat down and listened to it yet, not even the person who wrote it. Until that has happened you will not find a single word about how it sounds anywhere on this page — no adjectives, no comparisons, no genre — and there is nothing to play.

The part nobody else prints. Everything here is open, and until it is closed this device does not get a price tag that works.
Everything is our own code
No borrowed source, no sampled material, no impulse responses from anywhere. The filters are our implementation of published zero-delay-feedback designs, the drive uses antiderivative anti-aliasing, the oversampling runs through a half-band filter we designed, and the wavetables are computed at startup from harmonic recipes written out in the source. Where a published method is used, the paper is named in the code next to it.
Pricing policyA serial, not a leash
That is how every device here is licensed. DREAMS has none of it built in yet — there is no serial check in the code at all.

DREAMS will be $19, one payment, every update included — the same terms as everything else here. It is not for sale today and there is no pre-order, because there is nothing to send you: no macOS build, no licence, and nobody has heard it. When that changes it appears in the changelog and in the newsletter, and it lands in the bundle at no extra cost for anyone who bought one before.
